1. These terms

1.1 These terms apply to your use of oserclair.com and everything published on it, including The Weekly Note archive and The Library pages. By using the site, you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use the site.

1.2 Oser Clair LLC, an Illinois limited liability company ("Osér Clair", "we" or "us"), runs the site.

1.3 Other terms cover other things we do. Purchases from The Library are governed by our Terms of Sale. Client services and research consulting are governed by the agreement you sign with us. Our Privacy Policy and Consumer Health Data Privacy Policy explain how we handle information.

2. Educational content only

2.1 Everything on this site is general education about health research. It isn't medical advice, diagnosis or treatment, and it isn't written for your situation. We don't diagnose, recommend or rank treatments, interpret test results, or assess whether a symptom is urgent.

2.2 Lola Lozano has completed and defended her doctoral research and is not a licensed clinician. Please talk with a licensed clinician who knows your history before making any decision about your health, and don't delay or disregard professional medical advice because of something you read here.

2.3 Nobody becomes a client by reading the site, subscribing, emailing us or booking a free call. A client relationship begins only when we both sign an agreement.

3. Accuracy and currency

3.1 We take care to make what we publish accurate when it's published. Medical research changes, and the site isn't updated continuously. Each dated item reflects the literature as of its date.

3.2 We may change or remove content at any time.

4. Examples in our content

4.1 When our content describes an example, such as a question someone brought to us, details are changed or removed so that no one can be identified. Please don't try to identify anyone from an example.

4.2 An example shows how the work is done. It describes one situation at one point in time, and it isn't guidance for anyone else.

5. Our content and how you may use it

5.1 The site's text, design, dossiers, newsletter issues and graphics are owned by Oser Clair LLC or used with permission, and are protected by copyright. Osér Clair and the Osér Clair wordmark are our trademarks.

5.2 You may view the site, and print or save pages, for your own personal, non-commercial use. You may quote short passages with credit and a link.

5.3 You may not copy, republish or sell our content, scrape the site, or use its content to train or build AI models or other products, without our written permission.

6. What you send us

6.1 Please don't send health information through the website forms. We'll set up a secure channel before we discuss anything clinical.

6.2 When you send us a message or an application, you confirm that the information is yours to share and accurate to the best of your knowledge. We use it as our Privacy Policy describes.

6.3 If you send us corrections or suggestions, we may use them to improve our work without owing you anything for them.

7. The no-charge place

7.1 A few times a year we offer one no-charge place. Eligibility and dates are set out on the application page, and the place is drawn at random from everyone eligible. Applying doesn't guarantee a place or create a client relationship. The person drawn begins work only after signing an agreement.

8. Acceptable use

8.1 Please don't misuse the site. That includes trying to break or overload it, getting around its security, sending spam or harmful code through its forms, impersonating someone else, or using it for anything unlawful.

9. Links and embedded content

9.1 The site links to and embeds content from other services, such as journal articles, trial registries, LinkedIn, Google Calendar and Vimeo. We don't control them and aren't responsible for their content or their privacy practices. A link isn't an endorsement.

10. Disclaimers

10.1 To the fullest extent the law allows, the site and its content are provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including warranties of accuracy, completeness, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We don't promise that the site will always be available or free of errors.

11. Limitation of liability

11.1 To the fullest extent the law allows, Osér Clair isn't liable for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for any decision made based on content from this site. Our total liability for any claim relating to your use of the site is limited to $100.

11.2 Nothing in these terms limits rights you have that can't be limited under the law that applies to you.

12. Law and disputes

12.1 These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Illinois, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. If there's a problem, please contact us first. Any dispute that can't be resolved informally will be heard in the state or federal courts located in Illinois, unless the law where you live gives you the right to bring it there.

13. Changes to these terms

13.1 We may update these terms by posting a new version here with a new effective date. Using the site after that means you accept the updated terms.
